Married filing separately

If you were married, lived with your spouse at any time during 2024, and filed separately, a compressed three-band table applies:

$391,000 or more$487.00$689.90$91.00

How to read the table

  • The Part B “total” is the $202.90 standard premium plus the IRMAA add-on. Each Medicare enrollee pays separately, so a married couple both on Part B each pay it.
  • Part D IRMAA is added to whatever your drug plan (or Medicare Advantage plan with drug coverage) charges. It is paid to Medicare, not your plan.
  • Thresholds are cliffs: $1 above a threshold puts you into the next tier for the whole year.
